The adFunture Guerrilla Shop opens soon, 11:11am 11/11/07 to be exact. Hot vinyl collectible toys, designer clothes, and amazing art exhibits already on the books. Too bad for me its located in the UK. Be sure to check out their shop and collection online. Personally I’m a big fan of the G-Robot series, but that’s just because grenades are way cooler than unicorns.

I’ve already managed to run across the Superfad ad for the PS3 on a couple of websites, a most excellent blend of intense CG, fluid movement, and well picked music. Good stuff. Worth your :60.

Is Photoshopping Genitalia A Booming Business?

November 5th, 2007 by Seven Posted in Weird, Culture | No Comments »

A rather insightful look into the Japanese porn industry over at The Mainichi Daily News and how the job market for digitally modifying genitalia to meet exposure laws is booming.

“Orgy scenes are the absolute worst,” Hiranabe says. “You’ll have a guy pistoning away in one place and then a woman performing fellatio on another guy right next to him. The workload is several times greater than a normal scene. It could take hour after hour to get the job done. I reckon it would be pretty nerve-wracking at times.”

Awesome Watches from Tokyoflash

November 5th, 2007 by Seven Posted in Fashion, Design | No Comments »

shinshoku and kyokusen watches

Since I’m in the market for a new timepiece, I thought I’d share a couple of cool watches by Tokyoflash. Above is the Shinshoku and Kyokusen designs, two of my many favorites on the site. The Pusher series by Pimp would easily be on the list as well was it not for the logo. Same stands for the EleeNo Eclipse, although the logo is much less obtrusive and is somewhat complimentary to the design.

mix|FIGHT: Assassination Nation

November 2nd, 2007 by Seven Posted in C4 Content, Podcast, Music | No Comments »

A mini mix of songs curated and pieced together with a theme in mind.

Round 1: Assassination Nation.
This week kicks off with “Cellule” by Silence, muffled beats and banging metal finishing off with rising electric guitar riffs that stir up the bitterness. Xera follows suit with “Lliendes”, four minutes of folk electronica that really has that old world religious sect feel. Midway it goes for the throat in with a melodic knife fight of electronic beats and vicious strings almost yanked from the “Noir” anime. Rounding off the kill is Maniax Memori’s “The free mix [revo part I]” a murky hiphop and celebratory brass mix perfect for disappearing triumphantly into the rainy cityscape.

Pop up pirate usb hug

Oh absurd USB toys, how I love thee. This one, located over at GeekStuff4U, features a 4 port hub, plastic swords, and a pop up pirate in a barrel! Excitement ahoy!
Instructions: “Put the pirate doll into the barrel and give him a turn several times
Stub knives one by one in order. When the knife is right on the Pirate, it gets high-up into the air with bomb sound!”

Bomb sound. Classic.

Trailer Tipping: Jumper

October 30th, 2007 by Seven Posted in Movie | No Comments »

Jumper Movie Samuel L. Jackson Hayden Christensen Jumper movie samuel l jackson hayden christensen

For those of you Star Wars fans who really wished to see Samuel L. Jackson whip around a whiny Vader, now’s your chance. Jumper is directed by Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity, Mr & Mrs Smith) so chances are pretty spot on that the action will be solid, especially since he has David Goyer (Blades, Batman Begins, Dark City) behind the script.

A genetic anomaly allows a young man to teleport himself anywhere. He discovers this gift has existed for centuries and finds himself in a war that has been raging for thousands of years between “Jumpers” and those who have sworn to kill them.

Saul Willams Giving Away Niggy Tardust

October 26th, 2007 by Brian Posted in Music | No Comments »

If you haven’t heard of Saul Willams, now is the time to check him out. Like Radiohead, he is releasing his new album (produced by Trent Reznor) via the net. You can read more at NiggyTardust.com, where the full tracklisting has been posted. You can download the album at 192kbps for absolutely nothing (cheaper than In Rainbows and at a higher bitrate), and if you like what you hear, you can head back and show your appreciation by paying $5 for at either 192kbps, 320kbps, or Free Lossless Audio Codec (FLAC) aka pure lossless CD quality audio.

There is a lot of buzz in the press about how this only works for major acts, and is not a legitimate way for newer artists to sell their music. This is a chance for everyone to prove them wrong. Nothing like sticking it to the man and getting free music to boot.

A List Apart solicited surveys from over 33,000 individuals working in the web design and development fields. The findings of their work can be downloaded via an 82 page PDF describing nearly every single angle and element behind those working in the medium. I found it most interesting that over 46% of those taking the survey had a field of study unrelated to web work.

Chicago Man Gets 4 Million For Taking Screwdriver, Rectally

October 23rd, 2007 by Seven Posted in Weird, Video | No Comments »

Two police officers were found guilty today of performing a cavity search on man in an alley with a screwdriver. It’s like frisking, with Bob Villa. Now at what time does this appear to the officers that it might be a good idea? At what point in time do you realize the ‘resisting arrest’ plea just isn’t going to work? At what point in time do you step back and question your carpentry skills?

Oh, and for those who give the video a watch, is it just me or when the plaintiff declares “They believed me. The truth spoke for itself,” did you immediately think, “Why is this guy talking about pictures of the inside of his ass on television”?
